'Sye Raa' teaser was launched on Tuesday at an event in Hyderabad. The Teaser was jointly unveiled by Anjanamma (Chiranjeevi's mother) and Surekha (Chiru's wife). Producer Ram Charan invited the biopic's cast and crew members on to the stage.
Chiru's mother was the first one to speak. "Adiripoyindi," she said, blushing. Surekha appreciated director Surender Reddy for the output seen in the Teaser.
Dialogue writer Sai Madhav Burra said that he will always be indebted to Chiru for the opportunity. Kamal Kannan, who has done the film's VFX, said that the film is very close to his heart.
Paruchuri Venkateswara Rao said, "Our journey with Chiranjeevi garu has been there since the days of 'Khaidi'." He appreciated Kamal Kannan, editor Sreekar Prasad, Burra and the director for the phenomenal efforts they are putting in. Addressing Chiru's mother, he said that like Chiru, he too was born on a Monday. "It's said that sons born on a Monday bring progress to the family. I appreciate Ram Charan, who can understand what is going on in the other person's mind easily," he added.
Paruchuri Gopalakrishna said, "Megastar's birthday brings joy to crores of Telugus across the world. If my BP went up just watching the teaser, I can't imagine what you will go through when you watch the film. Chiranjeevi garu can emote with his eyes. We see it in the teaser while he rides the horse. Ram Charan is like Dharma Raju as the producer. Chiranjeevi garu is Arjuna, who plays the war. I will reveal a dialogue from the movie to fans later today"
Cinematographer Rathnavelu said, "Ram Charan is a passionate producer who doesn't keep the budget on a tight leash. Everybody is doing an extraordinary job on the film."
American stunt director Lee said that he is honoured to be working on the story of a great man who inspired his countrymen during the freedom movement.
Costume designer Sushmita said that it was exciting and emotional to watch the teaser. She thanked her dad and her brother for the film. "We are keeping things as authentic as possible, be it embroidery or other things," she said.
Surender Reddy said, "Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy was the first freedom fighter born in the Telugu land. We have taken gazette notes, etc in doing research on the subject of the film. Chiranjeevi garu is toiling hard for doing the film. Sometimes, he is doing stunts without a body double. I have realized that I got to learn so much by observing him. I know nothing! Without Ram Charan garu's passion, there is no 'Sye Raa'. The coordination with Rathnavelu and production designer Rajeevan is helping me a lot. Amit Trivedi is a musical genius. He is a major asset of our biopic. I was tensed to handle big stars for this film. But it has been normal because of their cooperation. This film is a teamwork. Our film will exceed your expectations."
Ram Charan said, "Our team is encouraged by the positive response. For 12 years, this project was being postponed. If the film finally took off, it's because of the resolve of the Paruchuri Brothers. They used to always tell me about this project, but I would tell them that the technology available in the industry was not adequate. Surender Reddy didn't agree to do this movie anon. He took time to take stock of his strengths before accepting this huge project.
What had been written for 12 years was okayed in one sitting when dad and Surender sat together! It was Kamal Kannan garu who did VFX for my film 'Magadheera'. The climax song is so great that dad okayed it without making a single suggestion. This is the first time that Nanna garu okayed something instantly. Rajeevan sir, Amit Trivedi, Rathnavelu and others, thank you all. I thank Amitabh garu, Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathy, Tamannah, Sudeep garu, Jagapathi garu for doing our movie."
Charan refused to divulge the budget being expended on the movie. "This is dad's dream project. If this film earns profits, it's a bonus. If it doesn't, it's okay too. My dad told me he is jealous that my very second production is a costume drama. The film will be released in all South Indian languages. All big films releasing next year should do great," Cherry averred.
The makers said that the biopic will stay true to reality as far as possible.
