It's known that 'Sye Raa' has been entangled in a legal case. The descendants of freedom fighter Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy recently approached the High Court in Hyderabad, seeking monetary compensation.
A hearing happened on Thursday, during which director Surender Reddy reportedly submitted to the court that his film is not a biopic in the first place. Ram Charan's production house seems to be projecting the movie as a historical based on the life and times of Narasimha Reddy, a rebel who lived in Kurnool in the mid 19th Century.
It's also reported that the Censor Board had withheld certification to the movie. It is probably waiting for the HC to clear the decks for the film's release.
There were reports recently that the family members of Narasimha Reddy demanded Rs 50 Cr from Ram Charan.
The Megastar Chiranjeevi-starrer will hit the screens on October 2.
