'Sye Raa' actor Vijay Sethupathi of Kollywood is in the news not just for his performance in Mani Ratnam's 'Nawab' but also for another reason.

On Friday, reports have emerged that his house in Kilpauk and his office in Valasaravakkam were raided by Income Tax sleuths. The popular actor was not in the town when the sleuths came visiting.

Although most media reports are saying it was a raid, it's believed that the IT department had made only a routine check the other day. It was a usual procedure.

So, it's much ado about nothing. Such a routine check was blown out of proportion by the media a few months ago when Vishal's office was visited by tax officials to merely check GST-related files.

The actor is gearing up for the release of the Trisha-starring Tamil romance '96' on Oct 4. In Tamil, he is doing 'Seethakathi', 'Super Deluxe', and above all, Rajinikanth's 'Petta'.
