As many as 3,000 Swiggy delivery executives on Tuesday went on an indefinite strike in Hyderabad, affecting services in Gachibowli, Hi-Tec City, Malkajgiri, and Uppal in the main.
As per them, the food aggregator recently reduced minimum earnings from Rs 35 to Rs 15 per delivery. Their allegation is that Swiggy charges something like Rs 35 from customers for a single delivery. On its part, Swiggy has denied that it pays its delivery executives so low.
Union representatives of the executives have it that it is even worse for the second order that immediately follows the first order in the same route. In that case, the agent gets paid only Rs 10.
The boys also want an extra amount to be paid for waiting up to 30 minutes at restaurants during peak hours. Monthly rating and petrol incentives are also not being given, they said.
