The monotonous first half and absorbing second half `Swayamvara' is heavily inspired from `Mujse Shadhi Karoge' Hindi film. The cinematography, three prominent artist's lively performance and two good tunes are the passable elements in this film. There are some inconsequential scenes which the director Anantharaju could have avoided in the first half.
Hot headed youngster Ajay (Srinagara Kitty) is forced to leave his village for three years as his good nature turns tortuous on him. He comes to city for a job and gets hold the manager position in a construction company. Ajay is a guitarist, painter and good singer. He lives in a posh room and when the rent is heavy the house owner ask him to share his room with another. In comes Vijay (Diganth) who is very smart in getting everything to his side. Ajay struggles hard to win the heart of neighbor Anusha (Sharmila Mandre) but fruits of his good deeds are earned by Vijay. In dilemma Ajay feels it is enough of taking and decides to leave city to settle down in his village. At this moment some more striking developments put Ajay in the comfort zone.
Giving up the image existing today Srinagara Kitty has done this role convincingly. Diganth has the right choice. Sharmila Mandre not only looks beautiful but emoted in two places with complete involvement in the scenes. Rangayana Raghu, MN Lakshmi, Umesh and Ramesh Bhat add support in the character roles.
Manikanth Khadri has scored two lovely tunes in that Suruvaithu Ninna Prithi Hudukata..is the best one. HC Venu has made the film look more pleasant in his camera.
Scoring 7/10
