Remember actress Swathi who paired in the early nineties with Vijay in 'Selva' and Ajith in 'Vaanmathi'? It is true that she did not have a great innings in Kollywood, despite being a popular heroine in Telugu. She is now back, playing an important role in Ameer’s 'Yogi'.

'Yogi', directed by Subramaniya Siva, has Ameer and Madhumitha in the lead. The movie centres on he lives of slum dwellers and Swathi is said to be playing an important role in the movie. The actress, who recently wedded Srikanth, is hoping this film will start a successful second innings for her.

Due to her inability to speak the language, the actress is said to have hesitated to dub for herself. Director Ameer, or shall we say the actor Ameer, has insisted that the actress give it a try. And so, to start with, Swathi has dubbed for herself in the trailer of 'Yogi'.

The film has been in the making for over year, and finally, it is said that shooting for it will be wrapped up in a month’s time. The film has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja and will be a year end release.
