Actress Swara Bhaskar, who had starred alongside Dhanush in his Hindi debut Raanjhana, besides starring in numerous movies like Nil Battey Sannatta, Tanu Weds Manu and Anarkali ki Aaraah, revealed that it took more than 8 years to understand that she had been sexually harassed, as the existing culture does not help women understand the intentions of predators.

Speaking at a panel discussion on Harvey Weinstein,  the actress without naming the person, said that she had been harassed by a director and that it took her almost 6-8 months to realize that it was harassment at workplace, adding that she had managed to escape without getting touched by the predator. 

The discussion also involved celebrities like Dia Mirza, and the actress further said that she was unable to identify the pattern of the predator, as the culture existing  doesn't teach girl children  understand predatory behavior. Th actress who was last seen in Veere Di Wedding expressed that women don't take legal measures as the society is hostile, and the culture enables predators to get powerful, and hence awareness is necessary.
