Song 'Besharam Rang' from Shahrukh Khan and Deepika Padukone's much anticipated film 'Pathan' has become the latest topic of controversy after a BJP minister declared that it is an "attack on Hindu sentiments". Apparently, some people aren't pleased with the fact that Deepika briefly sported an orange bikini in the song and they demanding a boycott on the film.
Actress Swara Bhaskar recently took to Twitter to slam these trolls. Sharing screenshot of a news headline which demanded 'Pathan' to be banned for showing 'Muslim man groping woman wearing saffron', the actress wrote on Twitter, "Miliye humare desh ke sattadhari netaon se. Abhinetriyon ke kapde dekhne se fursat milti, to kya pata kuch kar bhi lete (Meet our country's leaders in power. They may have done some work, had they had some time left after oggling at actor's dresses)."
A netizen wrote, "Criminals joining ministries is no longer news. Economists joining a Yatra is." Swara re-tweeted it with a comment that read, "Other news is what colour costumes actresses are wearing in item numbers!"
Filmmaker Onir also called out a netizen who tried to shame Deepika by saying, "What kind of a husband allows or tolerates public molestation of his wife for a few bucks? Just asking !!!"
Onir replied, "Yucks .., sick mentality . Use of words like ‘allows’, ' tolerate” shows that he belongs to that tribe of men who thinks an husband owns the women . And only a vulgar mindset could make a montage like this . Retired and now nothing better to do than zoom in pics n spread hate."
