Swa Le
"Janapriya Nayakan" Dileep seems to be facing some kind of problems in his career and in its planning. Though reputed as a meticulous planner, he was only able to bring two films to theatres in these entire ten months of 2009. The first movie `Mos And Cat', in which he was the hero ended up as a dumb squib at the Box Office. The credits for the other movie `Passenger' which was hit was largely shared by Sreenivasan who donned the title character of the movie and also the debut director Renjith Shankar. Now in the late months of the year, Dileep is coming up with a release `Swa.Le' (Swantham Lekhakan) on which he has much expectations.
`Swa.Le' is the acronym of Local reporter in Malayalam. And as you expect it tells the story of a local reporter of a Small news paper firm. Dileep plays the title role of this reporter named Unni Madhavan, who is always forced to work overtime by his new hungry editor and bureau chief. He even doesn't gets enough time to look after his pregnant wife. After reading Unni's reports, many has advised him to try for bigger jobs in bigger newspapers of the town. But due to some reasons like homesickness, he likes to stick to his little newspaper originating from his hometown.
The life of Unni takes a sea change following the arrival of a bunch of journalists from the city to his village, to report the death of Palazhy Sankara Pillai, a well known literary figure in the state. Sankara Pillai was the man who led Unni to the professional merits and ethics of journalism. But even amidst the intense grief of the death, Unni is forced to make lengthy obituaries about the man, whom he always considered as a fatherly figure. The film follows the incidents that forces Unni to take a different stand and make a different look at his profession.
Swa.Le is based on the story named ''deadline'' taken from the book "Enikku Mohanlaline Pediyaanu" by Kalavoor Ravikumar. Kalavoor himself pens the scripts and dialogues for this movie which will be the launch pad of popular cinematographer P Sukumar as a film director. The movie which tells humorously about the sufferings that the small reporters faces amidst their profession, is produced in the banner of colour factory by Madhu Warrier. While the director is also in charge of the camera department, Anil Panachooran and Biji Pal will handle the music department of Swa.Le.
The movie will also be the comeback film of actress Gopika, who took a break from the industry following her marriage. Also in the cast are Innocent, Jagathy Sreekumar, Salimkumar, Nedumudi Venu, K P A C Lalitha, Ashokan, and Ganesh Kumar. The movie which will grace the theatres this month is expected to give Dileep, the much evading big hit in his recent career.
