Shilpa a 30 year old post graduate medical college student committed suicide a few days after accusing three professors of sexually harassing her. The incident has created a storm in AP and Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has ordered a probe into the incident.

Shilpa studied at the SV Medical College, Tirupati and three accused professors belonged to the pediatric department who according to her failed her in subjects because she complained against them. She had even written a complaint to the Govenor and even though an inquiry was made the accused had stated that the girl was mentally unsound. Following students protests the principal and two of the professors have been transferred while the third has been handed an extended suspension.
