Varalakshmi, 26, from Jalpally, two years ago, fell in love with Nagaraju, a cab driver by profession, and married him. They had been staying in a rented house at Sriramnagar in Jalpally area of Pahadisharif. Just like any other couple, the couple too had issues in between them and these issues have so far that Nagaraju stabbed his wife to death at their house during the late hours on Tuesday.
During the past few months, their relationship strained as Nagaraju suspected that his wife was getting closer to other men. He was torturing her mentally and physically, informed Pahadisharif inspector S Vishnu Vardhan Reddy.
Family members of the couple have tried to make them patch up again and counselled them four more than four times in order to help them sort out their issues. On Monday night, the couple had an argument once again. On Tuesday, the neighbours noticed that the main door of the house remained closed.
Varalakshmi usually wakes up early in the morning for household work. But on Tuesday, the door was also latched from outside. The neighbours felt suspicious and have informed Varalakshmi’s parents who live nearby.
All of them together opened the door and saw Lakshmi lying dead in a pool of blood on the floor. Police confirmed that Nagaraju killed her by stabbing her in the throat.
