Former Miss Universe Sushmita Sen had a good run as an actress during late 90s and 2000s before she inexplicably took a break from films. She stayed away from the film industry for a decade before returning to the entertainment space with the web show 'Aarya'.

During a recent interview with Sucharita Tyagi, Sushmita talked about the reasons behind such a big break from her career. The actress shared that she wasn't being offered the kind of roles she wanted. "I think the 10-year hiatus set the priorities in order. It told me what I need to do and what not to do. Mainstream cinema wasn't giving me what I wanted. A lot of it was a pre-conceived notion of my age and my screen age and that I hadn't worked for ten years," said Sushmita.

The actress also added that she was unable to work in cohesion with PR and networking people due to which she lagged behind in her career. The second season of Sushmita Sen's web show 'Aarya' was released a while ago and the third season is currently in production.
