Sushant Singh Rajput on Sunday killed himself. The 34-year-old actor's demise has shocked and saddened the film industry and his fans.
In this regard, Netizens and social media influencers are urging the mainstream media not to indulge in sensational reporting. A few reports have insinuated that Sushant's former manager Disha Salian's recent death by suicide should be investigated along with Sushant's. "It is up to the police department to decide whether they want to investigate and if so, what angles they want to explore. It's not the media's job," a Facebook user says.
A Netizen feels that an incident of death should be talked about in isolation and shouldn't be clubbed with some other death. "Sushant's family members and friends must be feeling sad about all the insinuations and sensationalism," he adds.
Last month, the Press Council of India reportedly said that media reporting on suicide has to be proper. Issuing a few guidelines, it said that a suicide shouldn't be reported "in a way that makes it seem like suicide is a solution to any problem."
