Sushant Singh Rajput's suicide case took a surprising turn last night after Sushant's father KK Singh registered a complaint against the actor's girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty and her family members, accusing them of abetting Sushant's suicide.

Based on the deceased actor's father's complaint, an FIR was lodged against Rhea under various sections of the IPC, including those pertaining to abetment of suicide and fraud, Inspector General of Police, Patna Zone, Sanjay Singh, reportedly stated. In his complaint, Sushant's father made a shocking claim that Rhea and her family had asked Sushant to leave his residence and stay at a resort in the vicinity of Mumbai instead, after convincing him that his house was haunted. Mr. KK Singh also alleged that Rhea did everything to distance Sushant from his family. He reportedly said, "Rhea, who was living with Sushant, left his home. She took some cash, jewellery, laptop, credit card, and Sushant's medical prescriptions along with her. Rhea blocked his number, after which Sushant called his sister and said that Rhea might cause harm to him. He informed his sister that Rhea threatened him with revealing his medical prescriptions to the media, after which no one was going to give him work."

Sushant Singh Rajput died by suicide in Mumbai on June 14, having battled depression for a long period of time. Rhea has been booked under sections 341 (punishment for wrongful restraint), 342 (punishment for wrongful confinement), 380 (theft in dwelling house), 406 (punishment for criminal breach of trust), 420 (Cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property) and 306 (abetment of suicide) of the Indian Penal Code.

The IGP reportedly said that a four-member team has left for Mumbai to investigate the charges levelled by the complainant. Further details regarding the case will be updated.
