Stating that she was falsely implicated in the FIR registered against her by late actor Sushant Singh Rajput's father KK Singh, actress Rhea Chakraborty informed the supreme court that she remained in a live-in relationship with the actor until June 8.

The actress also allegedly claimed that Sushant was suffering from depression for some time and was on anti-depressants. "In peculiar facts and circumstances of the present case, the petitioner has been falsely implicated in the present case filed by at the instance of Krishna Kishore Singh. He committed suicide on the morning of June 14 at his Bandra residence by hanging himself. The petitioner was summoned and she had visited the Bandra police station on various occasions and her statement was recorded under Section 175 of CrPC. The petitioner has filed a complaint at Santa Cruz police station in Mumbai against the death and rape threats. It would be just and expedient, if the transfer of the case is directed from Patna to Mumbai," Rhea's plea reportedly said. In his complaint with the police, Sushant's father claimed, "Rhea, who was living with Sushant, left his home. She took some cash, jewellery, laptop, credit card, and Sushant's medical prescriptions along with her. Rhea blocked his number, after which Sushant called his sister and said that Rhea might cause harm to him. He informed his sister that Rhea threatened him with revealing his medical prescriptions to the media, after which no one was going to give him work."

Following this, Rhea was booked under sections 341 (punishment for wrongful restraint), 342 (punishment for wrongful confinement), 380 (theft in dwelling house), 406 (punishment for criminal breach of trust), 420 (Cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property) and 306 (abetment of suicide) of the Indian Penal Code. Sushant Singh Rajput died by suicide in Mumbai on June 14.
