The death probe of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput has gained steam, as Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has now recommended a CBI investigation into the death of the actor today today, after the actor's father requested for a CBI probe via a phone call.
Nitish Kumar said that, as the family has given its consent, the Bihar government is recommending a CBI probe on the FIR lodged in Bihar. Earlier, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray ruled out a CBI investigation and a Mumbai police probe into the actor's death.
Recently, Sushant Singh Rajput's father KK Singh had filed an FIR in Patna against actor Rhea Chakraborty and five others for abetment of suicide. Mumbai Police has so far recorded statements people including psychiatrists, a psychotherapist, Sushant’s friend Siddharth Pithani, Rhea Chakraborty, directors Mahesh Bhatt, Shekhar Kapur, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Aditya Chopra, YRF casting director Shanoo Sharma, Sushant’s father and sisters Neetu and Meetu Singh, and many others.
