There are a lot of comparisons being drawn between Sherlock Holmes and Byomkesh Bakshy and this is yet another comparison. Sherlock Holmes is a popular detective internationally, just as Byomkesh Bakshy is an extremely popular Indian detective. Sherlock`s friend and confidante is Dr Watson. Sherlock confides everything in Dr Watson, who even accompanies Sherlock when he is working on his cases.

The Indian Sherlock and Watson are Byomkesh Bakshy and his friend Ajit, who accompanies Byomkesh wherever he goes and even tries to assist him in his cases. In Dibakar Banerjee's 'Detective Byomkesh Bakshy', Anand Tiwari is playing Ajit Bandyopadhyay, friend of Byomkesh Bakshy (played by Sushant Singh Rajput). The two are always seen together and Ajit is the Indian Dr Watson. Byomkesh and Ajit are a tight pair.

'Detective Byomkesh Bakshy' is set in Kolkata 1943 and promises viewers to expect the unexpected. It is set for release on 3rd April.
