It has been officially confirmed that director Suseenthiran's next film 'Nenjil Thunivirundhal' will be hitting the screens for the Diwali festival in October 2017. it is to be noted that Thalapathy Vijay's mega 61st film 'Mersal' is also scheduled to release for Diwali festival. This has apparently made people ask the acclaimed director whether he intends to compete with Vijay.

To this Suseenthiran has clarified through a letter in Tamil. "People as whether we are releasing our film against 'Mersal'. I wish to clarify that we are not releasing against 'Mersal' but we are coming along with 'Mersal'. In 2013 'Pandiya Naadu' released along with Ajith sir's 'Arrambam' and both the films succeeded at the box office."

'Nenjil Thunivirundhal' stars Sundeep Kishan, Vikranth and Mehreen Pirzada in lead roles. D.Imman has scored the music for the film while Laxman Kumar has handled the cinematography.
