Suryapet: 26 cases on Tuesday, 'community spread' reported

Suryapet in Telangana has reportedly started seeing community spread of COVID-19. On Tuesday, the district registered 26 new cases as of 6 PM. With this, the total number of confirmed cases in the district stands at 80.
While the district has seen no deaths, the surge in positive cases has become a terrible cause of concern.
The number of persons in government quarantine was 344 till yesterday. Just today, the number is 210.
As per the Chief Minister's Office, KCR and others will visit the district tomorrow. "Pursuant to the instructions of Hon’ble CM, Chief Secretary Sri Somesh Kumar, DGP Sri Mahender Reddy, Medical and Health Dept. Special CS Ms Shanti Kumari, Medical and Health Director Sri Srinivas will tour Suryapet, Gadwal and Vikarabad districts on Wednesday," an official note said.
