Despite the fact that 'Shanghai' was moved away from it's originally planned January release to June this year, the film has managed to stay in news for all the right reasons. This Dibakar Banerjee film was caught attention of filmgoers during the announcement stage itself and has now earned further brownie points for itself with the revelation of it's First Look promo featuring Emraan Hashmi and Abhay Deol.

"I guess what has really worked well is the surprise element here", says Dibakar who is obviously thriller with the reactions coming his way ever since the promo has been launched, "Perhaps no one ever imagined Emraan and Abhay to be in such avtar but now that it has happened, there is good excitement build up. For them to come together in the same film and that too in the kind of roles they are playing is nothing less than a casting coup."

The film stars Kali Koechelin as the female protagonist and also features Prosenjit Chatterjee and Farooq Sheikh in key roles. With music by Vishal-Shekhar, the film releases all over on 8th June.
