Baby boy Surjith is fighting the big battle to survive for the past thirty-five hours after falling into a 100 meters hole drilled for a bore well in Nadukkattupatti near Trichy. Rescue teams from the DRF,SDRF, NLC, ONGC & other rescue teams are trying hard to bring him up alive and a 90-meter hole is drilled alongside to get to him after securing his two hands by rope noose.

The entire state of Tamil Nadu is looking forward to getting a good news on Diwali about Surjeeth and Kollywood legends Superstar Rajinikanth and Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan have reacted to the issue. Rajini has stated that he is praying for the safe rescue of Surjith and also insisted that parents and the government should have more awareness regarding the safety measures while drilling for borewells.

Kamal Haasan has taken to Twitter to write "It is a recurring tragedy of children falling into borewells in Tamil Nadu. The rescue mission to save the little one should become a success. Anyone who fails to cover up the borewells after digging should be severely punished and the government should levy heavy fines for the same".
