Suriya has been known not just for his movie performances but also as a socially responsible citizen and has constantly focused on providing education and developing the education system. Yesterday three students in Tamil Nadu committed suicide due to fears over the NEET exam, and now Suriya has posted a strong note on Twitter.

The actor has criticized the education system and has demanded people to unite and voice out against NEET. Tweeting "My heart goes out to the three families..! Can't imagine their pain..!!," Suriya shared a strong note expressing his disappointment and anger.

Suriya's note in Tamil translates to "The suicide of 3 students due to the fear of NEET exam has impacted my conscience. There's no pathetic situation than consoling a student writing an exam rather than wishing good luck. Even in the times of the Coronavirus pandemic, students are made to prove themselves by writing exams. The government has to create equal opportunities but has legalized a system that discriminates. People who aren't aware of the lives of poor students make educational policies. The court gives justice through video conference due to corona but tells students to go for the exams without fear. "Student dies by suicide due to exam fear" might be a media topic of discussion a day, and Chanakya's finding grammar errors will debate fiercely. "Manu needhi" exams like NEET take not only the opportunities of students but also lives and becomes lifetime punishment for parents who. Exams alone must not determine the talent of our students and like supporting students in their preparing for these exams, we must prepare them for success or failure. Exam results are nothing before life with a loving family, friends, and people. Mahabharata's  Dronas asked thumb from Ekalaivas but modern Dronas ask even a sixth standard student to prove by clearing examinations and have stronger weapons like NEET to take lives of those who struggle and cross these.  NEET has taken 3 lives in a single day and if we aren't aware, this will continue forever. We must not be silent and must unite and raise voice against NEET which kills the dreams of students from poor backgrounds to become doctors.
