Actor Suriya has been involving himself in various philanthropic activities through the Agaram Foundation launched and run by him. Now the versatile actor has reportedly donated Rs.10 lakhs for the Nadigar Sangam to support the new administration`s plans to dole out various welfare measures to the Sangam`s members, especially the impoverished and destitute artists.

Suirya`s brother Karthi has been elected as the new treasurer of the Sangam and the duo`s father Sivakumar has been supporting the actions of the actors who started their rebellion against the team of previous administrators of the Nadigar Sangam. Suriyadid not involve himself in any manner in the Nadigar Sangam election battle until the completion of elections. He however made headlines with his statement wishing the new body of administrators headed by President Nasser for their success. In that statement Suriya had criticized the previous administrators (without referring names) for projecting their duty as help to others and abusing the respectable members of the film industry.

Now the top league star seems to have extended this helping hand with the good intention of bringing fortunes to the members of the acting community
