Actor Suriya recently won the National Award for his performance in the biopic drama, Soorarai Pottru. It is well known that he and his family are very much interested in history and culture. Now, the latest is that Suriya has visited the Keezhadi excavation site and heritage museum along with his family.
Keezhadi is a village located on the border between Madurai and Sivagangai districts. The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) and the Tamil Nadu Archaeology Department (TNAD) are carrying out excavations there and have revealed a Sangam-era settlement dated to the 6th century BCE by radiocarbon dating.
The photos of Suriya and his family visiting Keezhadi have landed on the internet. Suriya, Jyothika, their daughter Diya and Suriya's father Sivakumar were seen in the images, which are now going viral. On the work front, the actor is now working on his magnum opus 'Suriya 42' with director Siruthai Siva. He will start Vetrimaaran's Vaadivaasal after this film.
