Suriya's powerful presence in Kamal Haasan's 'Vikram' releasing on June 3rd has further hyped the already high expectations for the film. Ever since the trailer landed there have been speculations as to what role he would be playing in the film.

Earlier, Lokesh Kanagaraj shared the first official poster of Suriya in 'Vikram' and wrote "Thank you soo much @Suriya_offl sir ✨for this". Suriya replied to him on Twitter "Loved being on sets with you and the whole team!! @Dir_Lokesh #Vikram".

Suriya is said to be appearing for close to five minutes in 'Vikram' and his role would be the most exciting in the whole film. It is suggested that he is in fact playing the title role and both Kamal and Lokesh have hinted that 'Vikram 3' will be made with Suriya in the lead.

Suriya and Lokesh go back a long time since after 'Maanagaram' the latter narrated a super hero flick 'Irumbu Kai Mayavi' with the former in the lead. The hotshot director revealed in a recent interview that he felt at that time that he could not handle such a big project and hence opted to shelve it. The Suriya family owned Dream Warrior Pictures then bankrolled 'Kaithi' starring Karthi that announced the arrival of Lokesh to the world.
