Suriya sets the stage for a blockbuster lineup: “Vaadivaasal” finally gets a timeline

Suriya is having a remarkable run in his career. After completing the shoot for “Suriya 44” and spearheading the promotions for “Kanguva”, the actor has now begun filming his next project, “Suriya 45”, directed by RJ Balaji. While fans eagerly await updates on his upcoming releases, the long-delayed “Vaadivaasal” has finally made headlines with a clear timeline.

Suriya joined hands with iconic filmmaker Vetrimaaran for “Vaadivaasal” a few years ago. However, the ambitious project was delayed due to the director’s busy schedule with other commitments. Recent reports suggest that the film is now set to begin shooting in April 2025, after Suriya wraps up “Suriya 45”.

Sources reveal that “Vaadivaasal” will require 12 to 15 months of production, with the makers targeting a Pongal 2027 release. Fans can expect a cinematic spectacle as the film explores the traditional Tamil sport of Jallikattu, with Suriya reportedly undergoing rigorous training to perfect his role.

Meanwhile, Suriya’s slate for 2025 looks packed, with both “Suriya 44” and “Suriya 45” scheduled for release. However, there will be a gap in 2026, with no major releases planned for the actor. Fans, though, can look forward to a special appearance by Suriya’s iconic character, Rolex, in Lokesh Kanagaraj’s “Kaithi 2” starring Karthi.
