Suriya's 'Soorarai Pottru' ('Aakasam Nee Haddhu Raa' in Telugu) is now going to be remade in Hindi. Director Sudha Kongara, who wielded the megaphone for the original, is back in the shoes of the helmer.
Taking to social media today, Suriya said that the remake will be bankrolled by him on 2D Entertainment in collaboration with Vikram Malhotra’s Abundantia Entertainment. "It gives me immense pleasure to tell the inspiring story of Captain Gopinath in Hindi," the actor stated.

The director, on her part, hoped that the Hindi remake receives love as the Tamil original did. Released last year on Amazon Prime, the film was critically acclaimed all over.
"Thrilled and honoured to announce that we have joined hands with 2D Entertainment to remake the globally acclaimed #SooraraiPottru in Hindi. Extra special that Sudha Kongara, who directed the original, will helm the Hindi film as well! #PraiseTheBrave (sic)," the makers said, making the announcement.
Based on a book titled 'Simply Fly: A Deccan Odyssey', written by GR Gopinath, the original had memorable performances by Aparna Balamurali, Paresh Rawal, Mohan Babu and others. GV Prakash Kumar was its music director.
