Superstar Suriya is a self confessed fan of actor Rahman. He says that ever since he saw the movie 'Puthu Puthu Arthangal' when he was in college, which became a trend setter of the time, he has become a great fan of Rahman. He adds that his awe of Rahman has not diminished one bit even now. Rahman is reprising Kunchako Boban's role in Jyothika's comeback movie '36 Vayathinale'.

Interestingly, Suriya is coming to Kochi for promoting Rahman's upcoming movie 'Lavender'. This is perhaps the first time that an actor from another language is coming here for promoting a film in which he is not part of. In the name of friendship, Suriya is making this gesture and crowds are bound to flow in considering his huge popularity here in Kerala. 'Lavender' stars Rahman, GP, Anoop Menon, Neeraj Madhav, Aju Varghese, Kalpana et al to name a few.
