Superstar Rajinikanth graced the audio launch function of Suriya's 'Kaappaan' and praised his younger colleague for his choice of roles and acting prowess mentioning a few of his films as well. The Thalaivar also extended his support to Suriya's views on the new educational policy of the governments stating that another side of Suriya was seen during his speech.

Suriya has posted an emotional thanks message " Dearest Rajinikanth sir truly respect your valuable time and support!! Thank you for a lifetime memory". 'Kaappan' directed by K.V. Anand and produced by Lyca Productions has the dream cast of Mohan Lal, Suriya, Arya, Sayyeshaa, Poorna, Samuthirakani, Boman Irani and others. Harris Jayaraj has scored the music and the songs are trending currently on various platforms.
