One of the notable phenomena of 2015 as far as Kollywood is concerned is that one of its top league stars Suriya became a producer and produced two good quality films that were also commercially successful.

Suriya launched his production banner 2D Entertainments in the year 2015. The first film to release under this banner was `36 Vayadhinile` which was also the comeback vehicle of his wife and yesteryear heartthrob Jyothika broke the myth that female-centric films would not do well at the box office. The film which was the remake of Malayalam super hit How Old Are You` was well received by Tamil audience and critics and proved to be one of the successful films of the year 2015.

Suriya followed it up with Pasanga 2` directed by Pandiraj in the year end. This film has also received phenomenal positive reviews from critics and audience have lapped it up as a clean entertainer that is also educative about children. The film is running successfully in theaters.

As the year comes ends today, Suriya has thanked the audience and press for their support for quality films.

The next release of 2D Entertainments would be 24` directed by Vikram Kumar with Suriya and Samantha in lead roles. The film is expected to hit the screens in Summer 2015.
