Suriya is a highly celebrated actor in Tamil cinema who leads a huge fanbase not only in Tamil Nadu but also in other regions. Now, the latest is that Suriya has completed 25 years in his cinema career. He debuted as an actor in 'Nerukku Ner' which was released on September 6, 1997.

Suriya recently won the National Award for Best Acting for his performance as Nedumaaran Raajangam in 'Soorarai Pottru', directed by Sudha Kongara. His fans are celebrating their idol's silver jubilee in Kollywood cheerfully. Meanwhile, the skilled actor took to his social media today to pen a heartfelt note on completing 25 years in cinema.

Suriya wrote, "Truly a beautiful and blessed 25years..! Dream and believe..! Your suriya." (sic) On the work front, he is currently working on 'Suriya 42' by Siruthai Siva, and 'Vanangan' by director Bala and he will soon begin shooting for director Vetrimaaran's 'Vaadivasal'. He also has upcoming projects with directors Ravikumar and Sudha Kongara.

In these 25 years, Suriya has acted in 40 films and most of them have been winners. Suriya has shared screen space not only with his father Sivakumar but also with many famous actors including Vijay, Vijayakanth, Vikram and Kamal Haasan. He has worked with many famous directors including Mani Ratnam, Bala, AR Murugadoss, Gautham Menon, Hari, KS Ravikumar and Sudha Kongara.
