Studio Green owner K.E. Gnanavelraja officially announced a couple of years back that ‘Suriya 39’ will be directed by Siruthai Siva. The shooting was about to begin when Siva got the chance to direct Superstar Rajinikanth’s ‘Annaathe’ and the hero and the producer sportingly let him finish that first.
Unfortunately the coronavirus pandemic caused a further delay of more than two years and rumours started doing the rounds that the project is shelved. In an exclusive interview to us Gnanavelraja clarified that the Suriya-Siruthai Siva project is very much on but he is not producing it.
Gnanavelraja added that the project has now gone to the hands of popular Telugu producers UV Creations who are behind massive projects such as Prabhas’s ‘Saaho’ and ‘Radhe Shyam’. He said that the reason is that the film required the highest budget in Suriya’s career and the other company was ready for it. The official announcement is expected soon.
