In November 2016, it was officially announced that actor top league star Suriya and maverick director Selvaraghavan will be teaming up for a film produced by S.R.Prabhu and S.R.Prakash Babu of Dream Warrior Pictures banner. After the initial announcement, there was no update about the project as Suriya has been busy with his 35th film 'Thaanaa Serndha Kootam' while Selva after completing 'Nenjam Marappathillai' with SJ Suryah is now busy with 'Mannavan Vanthanadi' which stars Santhanam in the lead role. 

Now bringing and end to the long wait of fans. producer S.R.Prabhu of Dream Warrior banner has tweeted that the shooting of Suriya-Selva film will begin in January 2018. This will be the 36th film of Suriya as an actor. The cast and crew details will be announced soon,

More importantly the young producer has also confirmed that the film will hit the screens for Diwali 2018. So Suriya fans can wait for a fantastic treat for the upcoming Festival of lights from now itself. 

It must be noted that Suriya's 35th film 'Thaana Serndha Kootam' has been scheduled to hit the screens for Pongal festival in January 2018.
