Suriya, who has spoken up in defense of Jallikattu and against People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), has come in for criticism from the animal rights' organization. Reacting to the Tamil actor's statement that PETA has lost its case in the people's court, the organization's spokesperson has opined that he joined the issue to time it just before the release of 'S3' on Jan 26th.

This has angered Suriya's fans, who have begun replying to PETA in the same coin. Obviously, PETA is being unnecessarily controversial here, especially because almost the entire Tamil film industry, not to forget the common folk in Tamil Nadu, have been vociferous in supporting Jallikattu. Suriya seems to have been a soft target in this case.
