G.V. Prakash Kumar started his career as singer when he was hardly a toddler in his famous uncle A.R. Rahman's music in 'Gentleman' and at the age of 19 he made his debut as music director in the Shankar produced 'Veiyil' directed by Vasanthabalan.
After establishing himself as a top music composer GVP switched on to acting and has done several films as hero and at least eight films are ready for release including 'Jail', 'Aayiram Jenmangal', 'Kadhalikka Yaarumillai' and the Hollywood flick 'Trap City'.
The multitalented creator has now made a huge comeback in his music career delivering the super hit album 'Asuran' starring Dhanush and directed by Vetrimaaran. His next 'Soorarai Pottru' starring Suriya and directed by Sudha Kongara is also making huge waves and his next films in the lineup include Suriya's 'Vaadivasal', Dhanush's 'D43' and 'Thalaivi'.
GVP shared the message "Kaattu Payale" in top 100 songs India on YouTube ... thank u". The single from 'Soorarai Pottru' has connected well with the youth audience and folk song lovers and is a chartbuster.
