Suriya's next movie 'Soorarai Pottru' is one of the most anticipated films not only among Tamil audiences but also the pan Indian ones. The directed by Sudha Kongara is releasing on Amazon Prime Video on October 30th and will be the first major star film in Tamil cinema history to go directly to OTT.

Suriya was supposed to begin shooting for 'Aruvaa' directed by Hari from April this year but the coronavirus lockdowns stalled it and now the project has been put on the backburner. The hardworking star was said to instead shoot for 'Vaadivasal' directed by Vetrimaaran but since the director has already committed to a film starring Soori as the hero the plans have now changed.

According ot the latest updates Suriya will next star in a new rural based family entertainer directed by Pandiraj and produced by Sun Pictures which will go on the floors in January 2021. D.Imman has signed on to score the music.

Suriya's 41st film will be produced by his own company 2D Entertainment and will be directed by Gnanavel of 'Kootathil Oruvan' fame which will have him in a pivotal role and not as the hero. This film will also be shot simultaneously to the Pandiraj film.

Suriya's 42nd film is now 'Vaadivasal' directed by Vetrimaaran and produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu with G.V. Prakash Kumar scoring the music. This much awaited project will begin principle filming by mid 2021.

Suriya's 43rd film has a lot of contendors to direct which includes Siruthai Siva, Lokesh Kanagaraj, Gautham Vasudev Menon and a few other younger directors who have narrated the script and will be finalized only in the new year.
