Suriya-Jyothika-Karthi give the first big donation for COVID 19 relief

The deadly COVID 19 second wave has affected normal life in India and in Tamil Nadu too daily cases have gone up to almost thirty thousand and death's nearing the three hundred mark. The new TN Chief Minister M.K. Stalin appealed to the public to donate to the Chief Minster's fund to combat the threat.
The Sivakumar family which includes Suriya, Jyothika and Karthi have jointly donated a sum of rupees one crore to the CM Fund and they (Suriya and Karthi) personally handed over the cheque to Stalin. Fans are lauding the stars for taking the initiative and are expressing hope that other bigs stars will follow suit.
A few weeks earlier Suriya tested positive for COVID 19 and he underwent treatment at a private hospital before returning home. After a month he participated in the shooting of two of his films 'Suriya 40' and 'Suriya 39' but stopped the work after the virus spread went out of control.
Similarly, Karthi who was planning to begin shooting his new movie 'Sardar' directed by P.S. Mithran and costarring Rajisha Vijayan and Raashi Khanna, has also put it on hold for now.
