Suriya's 'Perazhagan' director passes away

Sasi Shanker, who has directed Suriya`s 2004 comedy hit for AVM banner Perazhagan` passed away today. According to reports the popular Malayalam director was a diabetic and his wife found him in an unconscious state this morning at his home and rushed him to a nearby hospital where he was declared dead.

The 57 year old Sasi Shankar made his debut with Narayam` in 1993 and went on to make ten other films with the most successful being Kunjukoonan` starring Dileep and Navya Nair which was later remade with Suriya and Jyothika as Perazhagan`. We extend our heartfelt condolences to the departed soul`s family. RIP Sasi Shankar.
