Suriya is not only a leading actor but also a successful producer in the film industry. Suriya and Jyothika have produced numerous acclaimed films in Tamil through their production venture 2D Entertainment. Now, the latest is that the couple's production house has kickstarted their first Bollywood project with a small prayer.
'Soorarai Pottru' is a past film of Suriya with the talented filmmaker Sudha Kongara. The film, an uprising drama based on the life of Simplifly Deccan founder G. R. Gopinath, was released directly on Amazon Prime Video in November 2019. Sudha Kongara is now set to direct the Hindi remake of the movie, bankrolled by Suriya-Jyothika's 2D Entertainment.
Famous actor Akshay Kumar is reprising Suriya's role from 'Soorarai Pottru' while Radhika Madan portrays the role played by Radhika Madan in the original. Sharing the exciting news on his social media page, Suriya wrote, "A new begining… need all your love and blessings!!" (sic). GV Prakash, who scored music for the Tamil version, is composing in Hindi too.
The remake is yet to be titled and the shoot commenced today with a small prayer on the sets. Akshay Kumar shared a video of Radhika Madan performing the coconut-breaking ritual and singing a prayer and captioned, "With the auspicious coconut-breaking and a small prayer in our heart, we begin the filming of our yet untitled film which is about dreams and the power of it" (sic).
