We had already updated you that Suriya's upcoming film 'Jai Bhim' will have a world premiere on Amazon Prime Video on November 2 as Diwali treat. It is a courtroom drama based on the true incidents that happened in the 80s.
The latest information is that 'Jai Bhim' has been certified A by the Central Board of Film Certification. It has been a decade since a Suriya film got A-rated by CBFC. Ratha Sarithiram (2010) was the last film of the actor that is limited to adults. Also, the makers shared a poster that reveals the runtime of the movie as 164 minutes (2h 44m).
Jai Bhim is part of 2D Entertainment's four-film deal with the streaming giant. It is directed by Tha Se Gnanavel of Kootathil Oruvan fame. Suriya is stepping into the shoes of a public prosecutor in this movie. It is an adaptation of the 1993 case led by the real-life senior Chandru to bring justice for an Irular tribe woman.
Jai Bhim also stars Prakash Raj, Manikandan of Sillu Karupatti fame, Lijomol Jose of Sivappu Manjal Pachai fame, and Rajisha Vijayan who debuted in Tamil with Mari Selvaraj's Karnan. While Sean Roldan takes care of music, S.R. Kathir wields the lens. The trailer will be released by the last week of this month.
