Suriya's recent speech on the new educational policies of the state and central governments has made headlines in all the media platforms for the past few days. While the ruling party ministers and leaders are going all out to criticize the star Kamal Haasan has extended his support and has stated that Suriya has the rights to question the policies as he and his family are running the Agaram Foundation for education for several decades.
Here are the ten questions that Suriya has posed to the rulers regarding the new educational policies.
1) Why so much of urgency in implementing the new policy which is going to influence the future of thirty crore students.
2) Can a three-year-old child learn three languages?
3) What is the status of the 1848 schools that are facing shutdown?
4) When educationally developed countries do not have public exams till the 8th standard how does it makes sense to force it on children at 3rd, 5th and 8th standard classes?
5) If students are going to spend so much valuable time writing entrance, qualifying, public and NEET exams where will they find time to live and experience life and its lessons?
6) How is it justifiable when only one student out of one lakh eighty thousand passed in the NEET exams?
7) Is the intent of the new policy is to reduce the number of colleges from 50,000 to 12,000 and increase the number of coaching centres?
8) How is it fair that only one each of teacher's and student's organizations can formulate the new education policy for the 80 Lakh teacher strength of India?
9) When different streams of educational systems are followed in each state how is it possible to have one public exam?
10) Why we as a people have so less awareness regarding a system that is going to change the fate of our future generations?
