Kannada cinema's superstar Puneeth Rajkumar passed away suddenly due to a cardiac arrest on October 29th leaving the Indian film industry and his fans shell shocked. Even though a week has passed he occupies the news headlines due to his uncountable philantropic gestures.

Earlier today star actor Suriya flew to Bengaluru and went straight to Puneeth's memorial and paid his respects to the photo kept there. The 'Jai Bhim' star was in tears as he spoke to the media saying that it is very unfair and never should have happenned and he still cannot come to terms with Puneeth's death.

Suriya also shared that his father Sivakumar and the legendary Kannada superstar the late Rajkumar were family friends. He added that when his mother told him that when he was four months old he first met Puneeth who was seven months old and have maintained their friendship till his death.

Earlier, Tamil cinema's leading stars Sivakarthikeyan and Vijay Sethupathi also paid their homages to Puneeth at his memorial and the former also met Shivrajkumar and Puneeth's wife to express his condolences.
