In a startling turn of events, Suriya, the acclaimed star of Kollywood known for his stellar performances, suffered an injury on the sets of his highly anticipated project, "Kanguva," leading to an abrupt halt in the film's shooting. Directed by Siruthai Siva, the filming was underway at a film city in Chennai, where an elaborate set had been meticulously constructed for the movie.

Reports indicate that a mishap occurred when a rope camera lost control during the shooting, causing it to fall on Suriya and resulting in injuries to his shoulder. Fortunately, the incident was deemed minor, sparing the actor from any major harm. According to medical advice, Suriya has been prescribed a two-week period of bed rest to facilitate a speedy recovery.

The setback has, however, led to a potential delay in the film's production schedule. Originally slated to wrap up Suriya's portions this month, with the entire filming anticipated to conclude next month, the recent incident may necessitate adjustments in the timeline.

"Kanguva" was initially announced in August 2022 under the working title 'Suriya 42,' signifying Suriya's 42nd film in a leading role. The movie's shooting has spanned diverse locations, including Goa, Kerala, Kodaikanal, and Rajahmundry. The official title, 'Kanguva,' was revealed in April 2023.

The film boasts a captivating narrative with Suriya portraying six distinct roles, supported by a stellar ensemble cast featuring Disha Patani, Bobby Deol, Natarajan Subramaniam, Jagapathi Babu, Yogi Babu, Redin Kingsley, Kovai Sarala, Anandaraj, Ravi Raghavendra, K. S. Ravikumar, and B. S. Avinash. Notably, "Kanguva" marks the Tamil debut of Disha Patani and Bobby Deol.

Scheduled for a theatrical release in early 2024, the film will be presented in standard, 3D, and IMAX formats, although the official release date is yet to be announced. Despite the unexpected hiccup, the anticipation for "Kanguva" remains high among fans, eagerly awaiting Suriya's multi-faceted performance in this cinematic venture.
