Suriya who is one of the topmost stars in South Indian cinema is equally lauded for his philanthropic activities. He is especially very close to his fans and even recently visited the house of one of them who passed away in Namakkal.

A while earlier Suriya shared the photo of one of his hardcore fans called Pondicherry Rajendran and mourned his death at a young age. He wrote in Tamil "My younger brother Pondicherry Rajendran had immeasurable love for me and was like a a blood relative to me. I am deeply saddened by his passing away due to ill health. I join their family as a brother in their irreplaceable loss.'

Professionally, Suriya is the toast of the film industy currently after his five minute appearance as Rolex in Kamal Haasan's 'Vikram' wowed audiences all over.
