Suriya, one of the highest rated actors in the country is currently shooting for the two part Magnum opus 'Suriya 42' directed by Siruthai Siva.
Earlier Suriya produced and starred in a new movie 'Vanangaan' directed by Bala his mentor. The film was shot for 40 days in Kanyakumari and the Indian Ocean. However due to creative differences the project was stalled for several months. Though rumours broke out that the film was dropped it was denied by the concerned parties
Now Bala has confirmed that Suriya has exited his film and he will continue without the hero.
The rough translation of Bala's statement in Tamil reads "I wanted to direct a new movie called 'Vanangan' with my brother Suriya. But due to the changes in the story, I now have a doubt that this story will be suitable for him. Surya has full faith in me and this story. It is also my duty as a brother that I should not cause even a small embarrassment to my younger brother who has so much love, respect and trust."
The National Award winning filmmaker added "So we have discussed and taken a decision that Suriya will withdraw from the film 'Vanangan'. Although he is very sad about it, this is a decision taken in his best interest. The Suriya I found in 'Nanda', ll and the Suriya you saw in Pitamagan - will definitely join us in another moment. Other than that the works for Vanangan' will continue."
