Suriya is currently focusing on the rural entertainer 'Etharkkum Thunindhavan' directed by Pandiraj and bankrolled by Kalanithi Maran's Sun Pictures banner. We had already updated you that the shoot of the film is almost finished and expected to be wrapped up soon.

Now, the latest hot buzz in the industry is that the mass action movie is likely to hit the screens on December 17. Earlier, there were speculations over the release date claiming that ET will release for Christmas and Pongal. Reports read that director Pandiraj has already shot more than 80% and is planning to wrap up the entire shoot this month.

"With Sun Pictures' Thalapathy Vijay starrer 'Beast' eyeing for a Pongal release, Etharkkum Thunindhavan is slated to release before Christmas," reveals some sources. Rural music expert Imman is composing the music while Rathnavelu cranks the camera. Ruben is in charge of the cuts. Priyanka Mohan is playing the leading lady role 'Aadhini' opposite Suriya.

Vinay Rai is featuring in a crucial role. Soori is playing the heroine's maternal uncle character named 'Aavani Soolamani'. Etharkkum Thunindhavan also stars Sathyaraj, Saranya Ponvannan, MS Bhaskar, Ilavarasu, Devadarshini, Saran, Jayaprakash, Thangadurai, Pugazh among others in assisting roles.
