Suriya becomes the first Tamil actor to get Oscars committee invite

Suriya is today hogging headlines all over India. He has become the first Tamil actor to get invited to join the prestigious Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. In all 397 individuals belonging to different parts of the world have received invites.

Besides Suriya, the other popular Indian actor to receive an invite is Bollywood diva Kajol.

Suriya, known for the OTT hits 'Aakasam Nee Haddhu Raa' and 'Jai Bhim' in the pandemic years, has been in the news over Rolex in 'Vikram'. He is joining hands with Kamal Haasan for 'Vikram 3', to be directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj.

Suriya was seen in 'ET' earlier this year. Directed by Pandiraj, the film had Priyanka Arul Mohan as Suriya's wife. It was released on March 10.
