Suriya and Shriya win Mathrubhumi awards

Suriya and Shriya Saran have been announced the best actors in Tamil cinema at the Exxo-Mathrubhumi Amrita awards. Suriya was named the best actor for his performance in the films like 'Aadhavan' and 'Ayan' while Shriya was selected as the best actress for 'Thoranai' and 'Kanthaswamy'. National Award winning Priyadarshan's 'Kanchivaram' was chosen as the best Tamil film. K S Ravikumar was the best director for ‘Aadhavan’, which was a big hit in Kerala as well. The awards will formally be presented at a gala event in Kochi on January 19.
