Suriya is known for his passion to do varied roles. The actor, who played a college student in Sillunu Oru Kadhal, is now on to play a school student in his forthcoming film Varanam Aayiram.

The movie directed by Gowtham features Suriya in the role of a school student and acting opposite him is Andrea. The actor is taking pains to reduce his weight and look trim on the screen, to look like a genuine school student.

Says Suriya, “It is a challenging role and Gowtham encouraged me that I can do the role with aplomb. To suit the role, I have been running for over three kilometers daily and am on a strict diet control. For Ghajini, I burnt out my extra calories and ensured that I looked trim on the screen. Now, here I am, doing the same for Varanam Aayiram.”

After Kaakha Kaakha, Suriya, Gowtham Menon and Harris Jayaraj are back together again for Varanam Aayiram.
