Last year Suriya became the first actor in Tamil cinema to be invited to join the jury of the 95th Oscar Awards. The honor came his way after both his films 'Soorarai Pottru' directed by Sudha Kongara and 'Jai Bhim' directed by T.J. Gnanavelu gained international acclaim and even knocked at the Oscars.

Suriya confirmed this afternoon that he has completed his duty of voting for the 95th Oscars and shared a pic of the same. The Oscars, hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, will be held at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles at 8 p.m. EST on Sunday, March 12th. Films such as All Quiet on the Western Front" and "Avatar: The Way of Water" are vying for the Best Pictures while Cate Blanchett , Ana de Armas, Colin Farrell and Brendan Fraser are in fray in the Best Actress and Actor categories respectively. From India "All That Breathes" is the favorite to win the Best Documentary Feature Film.

Suriya meanwhile is currently shooting for 'Suriya 42' directed by Siruthai Siva and produced by UV Creations and Studio Green. Disha Patani is the leading lady and DSP is scoring the music. He is expected to next star in Vetrimaaran's 'Vaadivaasal' and projects by Sudha Kongara, Hanu Raghavapudi, T.J. Gnanavel and Lokesh Kanagaraj. among others.
